Weekly Photo Challenge: Illumination

This week’s photo challenge from the Daily Post is entitled “Illumination.”

I love lights.  I like being able to see things.  I like it when things are lit up.

One of our favourite Christmas pass times is to go out looking at the lights.  One of our friends, V, has a strange love of the lights and has been known to scream “CHRISTMAS” whenever she see lights on houses.

My chosen entry for this challenge is not from Christmas, although we did see a number of lights and I did take a few pictures of them.  Instead, I am choosing a picture of the Eiffel Tower lit up at night.

When we decided to make Paris one of our stops on our graduation/delayed honeymoon adventure, the only place I really, really wanted to see was the Eiffel Tower.  And then, I read while scoping out some tourist guides that at night, they light it up and do a light show of sorts.

That settled it… Not only did I want to see the Eiffel Tower, but I wanted  to see it at night with the lights.

So, we went to see it at night.  With the lights.  And the really irritating people trying to sell me roses.  IMG_2220

Minus the rose people, it was awesome.
